Andreas Brantelid was born in 1987 to Swedish/Danish parents. He started playing the cello from a very early age, studying with his father Ingemar. He made his concerto debut at the age of 14 with the Royal Danish Orchestra in Copenhagen playing the Elgar Cello Concerto.

Andreas Brantelid föddes i Köpenhamn 1987 och fick tidigt undervisning av sin far. Vid 14 års ålder gjorde Andreas solistdebut i en Elgar-konsert med Royal Danish Orchestra i Köpenhamn. Sedan dess har han arbetat med flera olika internationella orkestrar och dirigenter och är idag en av de mest eftertraktade skandinaviska artisterna.
In 2015 he received the prestigious Carl Nielsen Scholarship.
